  • Accessibility – 1hr Boat Ride – Trucks Available at Aboaokoro Council – 400m Paddle
  • Hazards – Sunburn – Remoteness – Sharp Reef - Ghosts
  • Stokeability – 200+ Metre rides with hollow sections – Right Hander

Causeway

  • Wind Direction – WNW - ENE
  • Swell Direction – ESE - W
  • Tide – Mid Tides
  • Accessibility – Access via road – 500m Paddle
  • Hazards – Boats
  • Stokeability – Incredibly Fun wave – Rights and Lefts – Caters to all abilities and all equipment. Maxes out around 6ft

Last Gun

  • Wind Direction – Light ESE - ENE
  • Swell Direction – WSW - NNW
  • Tide – Mid to High
  • Accessibility – Access via road – 1500m paddle from the west point of Betio. Ask a fisherman (stick of tobacco helps)
  • Hazards – Sewerage Outfall – Remoteness - Exhaustion
  • Stokeability – Long winding left – can hold 10ft+

  • Tide - High Tide
  • Accessibility – By Road – Just near the hospital morgue
  • Hazards – Hypodermic Needles – Medical Waste – Incinerator Fumes – Rocks
  • Stokeability – Can be surfed in many conditions – Safe bet

  • Accessibility – Ask for permission and go through local homes – accessible by road – 100m paddle
  • Hazards – Reef – Tiger Sharks – Heavy Closeouts
  • Stokeability – On its day, perfection. Don’t surf alone.
